According to UATV: On June 15, 2023, Russian occupation forces targeted a rescue unit in Zaporizhzhia, causing damage to a fire station. The attack shattered windows and damaged a fire truck and a service vehicle. Fortunately, no personnel were harmed, as State Emergency Service (SES) workers had taken shelter. This incident highlights the ongoing risks faced by first responders in conflict zones.
That same day, the Russian military launched a large-scale combined strike on Kharkiv, killing four rescuers and one SES employee, while injuring nine others. These events underscore the severe threats that emergency services endure while operating amid active hostilities.
