Strikes on the Logistics of Russian Troops in Crimea
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have confirmed strikes on the logistics facilities of Russian troops in Crimea. Attacks on key transport hubs have become a common occurrence both in the occupied territories and in Russia, creating serious problems for the aggressor's logistics. This was reported by military expert Denis Popovich on the FREEДОМ TV channel.
Attacks on Railway Stations
According to information from the monitoring channel 'Crimean Wind', on August 26, a strike was carried out on a railway substation in Krasnogvardeyskoye. There were also reports of hits on an oil storage facility near the railway station in Dzhankoi.
Dzhankoi is an important hub for the occupiers on the peninsula. All trains heading to Crimea pass through this city, regardless of the direction — from Mykolaiv, Kherson, or Melitopol, noted Popovich.
'The practice of striking key stations in occupied territories, particularly in Crimea, and in the territory of the Russian Federation has recently become very widespread. Strikes on key stations create large gaps in logistics, leading to delays of dozens of trains. This disrupts the schedule and, to some extent, affects frontline logistics. After all, it is mainly through the railway that the opponent builds its logistics chains,' the specialist noted.
Impact of Strikes on Fuel Supplies
Popovich also added that attacks on trains transporting fuel have been confirmed.
'That is, we are not only depriving certain sections of the front of fuel supplies, but we are also seriously disrupting the enemy's logistics. Imagine a huge train with tankers filled with combustible materials that is on fire. First, it needs to be extinguished, then the consequences of the fire need to be dealt with, and after that, the railway tracks, which are certainly severely damaged as a result of the fire, need to be repaired. This takes several days at a minimum, if not longer. And this, of course, very seriously affects the logistics of the Russian army,' he emphasized.
The expert believes that strikes on Russian oil refineries are also extremely effective. There is a severe shortage of gasoline in Russia.
'Novoashkhtinsk Oil Refinery, Volgograd Oil Refinery, Syzran Oil Refinery — one can continue listing. According to estimates, 17% of the oil refining capacity of the Russian Federation is out of order. Now, everywhere, both in the Russian Federation and in the occupied territories of Ukraine, there is no gasoline at gas stations. In some cases, it is being sold using cards or coupons. And only in the interests of local authorities, utility services, and so on. Here are the consequences of these strikes on oil refineries and logistics — they are evident,' he pointed out.
Prospects of the Ukrainian Strike
Denis Popovich emphasized that the most effective measures against the aggressor remain strikes on logistics points and oil refineries. He reminded about the Ukrainian missile 'Flamingo', which has a range of up to 3000 km.
'In fact, it will be able to strike beyond the Ural Mountains. And it will be very effective precisely for striking these unprotected objects in Russia — oil refineries, oil bases, key stations. There are many such objects, and it is not possible to protect all of them with an air defense system,' concluded the expert.
Considering the increase in attacks on critically important logistics and fuel facilities, Ukrainian efforts are demonstrating a significant impact on the supply of Russian troops. This underscores the importance of such measures to ensure a strategic advantage in the conflict. In the context of a prolonged war, control over logistics routes becomes a crucial factor for the success of any military operation.
