Strikes on Russia’s Rear Are Shifting the War's Course: 'Achilles' Commander Lays Out the Key to Victory.
Commander of the 429th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems 'Achilles'
According to UATV: Yuriy Fedorenko emphasized that a comprehensive strategy is essential to defeating Russia in the war against Ukraine. He highlighted the critical role of targeting the enemy’s logistics and energy infrastructure. Ukrainian defense forces have already begun patrolling Russian supply lines operating out of temporarily occupied Crimea.
Why Attacking Logistics Matters
Fedorenko pointed out that strikes on logistics significantly alter the occupiers’ assault tactics.
“If we destroy the assembly points and components at military-industrial facilities where Russia builds the missiles, drones, and other weapons it uses against Ukraine, the enemy will clearly begin to feel shortages,”he said. This demonstrates that dismantling key logistics nodes can severely limit the adversary’s capabilities.
Currently, Ukrainian forces have managed to seize the tactical initiative on the front lines—a major step in countering the aggressor.
“To gain the tactical initiative that Ukraine now holds, we had to implement a set of interconnected measures,”Fedorenko added. This underscores that the military’s recent successes stem from coordinated efforts and the simultaneous execution of multiple strategies.
According to the brigade commander, this comprehensive approach goes beyond logistics strikes to include other avenues that can strengthen Ukraine’s position in the confrontation with Russia.
Fedorenko’s remarks underscore the importance of strategic thinking in modern military operations, which could shape Ukraine’s effectiveness against the aggressor. Patrolling enemy supply routes and hitting its infrastructure are part of a broader effort to weaken Russia’s military capacity. This also points to a potential shift on the battlefield, where Ukrainian forces aim to maintain momentum and enhance their operational efficiency.
