Ukraine Sources Fuel from over 10 Nations: Military Supply Fully Met.
Ukraine's Fuel Supply Strategy
According to Novyny.live: On March 13, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal outlined Ukraine's plan to secure fuel for the military, farmers, businesses, and the retail market by importing from more than ten countries. He confirmed that the armed forces will receive 100% of their fuel needs. To successfully carry out the spring planting season, the country requires 300,000 tons of diesel.
During March, Ukraine imported nearly 250,000 tons of gasoline, diesel, and liquefied gas. Currently, approximately 100,000 tons of fuel are held in reserve. The minister emphasized that the resource situation remains under control, which should ensure supply stability. The primary nations supplying fuel include:
- Poland
- Lithuania
- Romania
- Greece
Priority allocation targets the military, agricultural sector, businesses, and the retail market, reflecting a strategic approach to resource distribution across the country.
Critical Fuel Provision
Securing fuel for the army and agriculture is vital for maintaining national defense and food security amid ongoing hostilities. Importing from diverse sources helps reduce reliance on any single supplier and ensures a steady flow of supplies. These measures demonstrate the government's efforts to optimize resources under current conditions and prepare for key agricultural campaigns that could impact Ukraine's broader economy.
