The new head of the Ukrainian government, Yulia Sviridenko, expressed the opinion that the country may need additional financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund as the previous credit program's term is expiring in two years.

As Sviridenko noted, an appeal to the IMF for additional funding may be necessary for Ukraine to cover the state's fiscal needs amid the prolonged war with Russia.

In an interview with Bloomberg, the Prime Minister stated that if the war with Russia continues, it may lead to the need for a new IMF program.

Plans of the new government

Yulia Sviridenko also plans to discuss cooperation in the procurement of weapons with the US Secretary of the Treasury and the production of drones. The government's goal is to increase the economic growth rate to over 4% by 2026 and resolve unresolved issues, including anti-corruption measures.

The new head of the government promised to address all unresolved issues and also provided explanations regarding the moratorium on business inspections and responded to the new bill regarding SAP and NABU adopted by the Verkhovna Rada.
