“Germany may first provide Ukraine with launchers and then additional components of the Patriot system,” said German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
Initially, the Germans will hand over only the launchers of the Patriot system to Ukraine, which will happen in the coming days. The rest of the elements of the complex are planned to be delivered within the next two to three months.
In the meantime, the United States will expedite the delivery of new Patriot systems to Germany.
It should be noted that the U.S. Senate has approved a bill providing $54.6 billion in assistance to Ukraine.
It was previously known that Germany would also provide Ukraine with additional IRIS-T air defense systems that can intercept ballistic missiles.
