Kyiv Briefs Diplomats from 31 Nations on Damage to Druzhba Pipeline from Russian Strikes.
Briefing for Foreign Diplomats
According to UATV: On March 14, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Naftogaz group, held a briefing for foreign diplomats about the condition of the Druzhba oil pipeline infrastructure following Russian attacks. Representatives from 31 countries attended, including those from the G7 nations.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevheniy Perebyinis stressed the need for international solidarity, stating:
'We want our international partners to have a complete picture of the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.' Yevheniy Perebyinis
Serhiy Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, also addressed the gathering. He explained that restoring the damaged infrastructure involves highly complex technical work:
'Rebuilding such infrastructure is a complicated technological process that requires time, specialized equipment, and constant effort from experts even under ongoing threats.' Serhiy Koretskyi
Infrastructure Attacks and International Response
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 400 attacks have been recorded against Naftogaz facilities. In 2026 alone, over 30 bombardments have already been documented. The most recent assault on the Druzhba pipeline infrastructure occurred on January 27. In response to these strikes, on March 12, the European Commission proposed sending a mission to Ukraine to inspect the pipeline's condition.
This briefing marked a significant effort to inform the global community about the damage caused by aggressive actions and Ukraine's urgent need to restore its energy infrastructure. With constant attacks on critical energy assets, international backing and a willingness to cooperate from other countries could prove decisive in the recovery process and in securing Ukraine's energy stability.
