According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine has successfully brought back the bodies of 522 deceased military personnel as part of ongoing repatriation operations. The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War confirmed the recovery, noting that these efforts were carried out in collaboration with the Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other organizations. This marks a significant step in fulfilling the state's commitment to honoring those who lost their lives in the conflict.
Additionally, on December 19, 2025, Ukraine repatriated 1,003 bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. According to the Coordination Headquarters,
“law enforcement investigators, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct all necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies.”The repatriation process also involves the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, and the State Emergency Service.
