Roam Like at Home becomes permanent for Ukrainians: what will change from 2026.
According to ТСН: From January 1, 2026, Ukrainians will have the opportunity to use mobile communication and the internet in European Union countries without additional costs thanks to the permanent Roam Like at Home regime.
This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation and Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
What will change for users
According to the minister, 'home tariffs' in Europe are becoming not just a temporary benefit, but a permanent state policy. This new regime has numerous advantages.
'Ukraine is a full member of the European Roam Like at Home policy. Home tariffs for Ukrainians in Europe will become a stable practice — previously these were agreements with European operators,' said Mykhailo Fedorov.
The minister emphasized that Ukraine became the first candidate country to join the Roam Like at Home zone even before its official accession to the European Union. This decision is part of the integration into the unified EU digital market.
'Roam Like at Home is an opportunity for Ukrainians temporarily traveling or residing in EU countries to call and use the internet at their operator's rates without any extra payments,' said the minister.
He added that now it is possible to use the rates of their operator in Europe without changing SIM cards.
Thus, Ukrainians will be able to forget about the need to search for local SIM cards or overpay for communication while traveling in Europe. Ukraine officially joins the EU Roam Like at Home roaming zone, which means that calls, SMS, and mobile internet in 27 EU countries will be available under the terms of their 'home' tariff.
This step is very important for Ukrainian travelers, as it will simplify life for many who plan trips across Europe. Many people will be able to stay connected and use communication services without additional costs, making travel even more comfortable.
