Ukraine and the EU presented a peace plan: what the initiative entails.
Ukraine, together with Europe, has developed its own peace plan to end the war. According to it, the fire must be stopped before any new steps are taken.
Ukraine and Europe's Peace Plan
The governments of Britain, Germany, France, and Ukraine presented a peace plan in response to the initiative of Russian President Putin. Under this plan, the exchange of territories is possible only on a mutual basis.
European representatives emphasized that Ukraine's future cannot be discussed without Ukraine itself. It was also noted that Europe will continue to provide support to Kyiv, both military and financial.
What Putin Proposes
Putin expressed readiness to cease fire on the condition that Russia receives part of eastern Donetsk. The plans also included 'freezing' the front line in other regions that are also considered disputed.
Later, Ukrainian President Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine will not give its territory to the occupiers. It is planned that a meeting between Trump and Putin will take place on August 15 in Alaska to discuss ways to end the war in Ukraine.
