Kyiv and Berlin Set Joint Priorities Ahead of Ramstein Summit: Key Talking Points Revealed.
Ramstein Defense Meeting
According to UATV: Ahead of the Ramstein-format meeting scheduled for June 18, Ukraine and Germany have coordinated their key objectives. During a phone call on June 10, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and his German counterpart Boris Pistorius discussed critical issues regarding military assistance to Ukraine.
Topics Discussed
The conversation covered Patriot system missiles, additional contributions to the PURL program, and supplies of extended-range artillery ammunition, FPV drones, and middle-strike-class unmanned aerial vehicles. These assets are essential for strengthening Ukraine's defensive capabilities amid the ongoing conflict.
Mykhailo Fedorov stated: 'We continue to destroy the enemy simultaneously in three domains—air, ground, and economy.'
It is also worth noting that Ukraine has developed its own guided aerial bomb named 'Vyrivnyuvach' (The Leveler), reflecting the country's efforts to advance new technologies for bolstering its defense. These initiatives underscore Ukraine's commitment to deepening military cooperation with international partners.
Preparations for the Ramstein meeting highlight Ukraine's active efforts to secure international support for enhancing its defense capabilities. Discussions of specific military deliveries, such as missiles and drones, emphasize the need for the Ukrainian armed forces to adapt to modern challenges. Furthermore, the development of new technologies like the guided bomb is part of Ukraine's broader strategy to counter aggression and demonstrates its drive to independently strengthen its defense posture. All this takes place against the backdrop of an ongoing war, which demands constant readiness and flexibility from Ukraine in military matters.
