Ukraine and Russia Conducted a New Stage of Prisoner Exchange (photo).
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Ukrainian and Russian sides successfully completed another stage of the prisoner exchange. The released individuals were servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Border Guard Service, and the National Guard of Ukraine, who are now receiving necessary medical care and rehabilitation.
As part of the exchange, the released defenders were in captivity throughout the entire duration of the war on various fronts. They are currently undergoing medical examinations, physical and psychological rehabilitation, and will receive all payments for the period of detention in captivity. This exchange is part of a broader process that encompasses servicemen of various categories.
The prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia is an important step towards resolving the conflict and returning peace to eastern Ukraine. The release of defenders who were in captivity gives them the opportunity to receive necessary assistance and return to civilian life. We hope that similar exchanges will continue in the future, contributing to the resolution of the conflict in Donbas.
