Ukraine and Russia to Exchange Nearly 500 Prisoners: Who is the Mediator.
Tomorrow, with the mediation of the United Arab Emirates, a prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia will take place, according to a Reuters source.
The exchange involves the transfer of nearly 500 prisoners between the parties to the agreement, of which 46 are wounded soldiers.
According to the source, it is expected that 246 prisoners will be released from each side, marking a new stage in the series of exchanges mediated by the UAE during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
It should be noted that thanks to the mediation of the UAE, 3,233 prisoners have already been released.
This exchange is taking place against the backdrop of a statement from U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio, who warned that the U.S. may withdraw from mediation in peace talks between Ukraine and Russia if there are no signs of a potential ceasefire.
