Ukraine and the USA signed a memorandum of cooperation in the energy sector
Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga met with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Brussels. They signed a memorandum of understanding between the governments of Ukraine and the USA regarding cooperation to enhance the resilience of Ukraine's energy system. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The memorandum provides for the possibility of American assistance amounting to up to $825 million, - the statement said.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the document creates a legal framework for improving the resilience of Ukraine's energy system. In particular, it concerns the restoration of critical infrastructure, the introduction of distributed generation, the reform of the energy sector, and the facilitation of the transition to a low-carbon, competitive, and integrated into Europe economy after the war.
The situation in the energy sector is complex but controlled by dispatchers Ukrenergo. The system has maintained and continues to maintain integrity.
