Zelenskyy Reveals Ukraine in Talks for Patriot Missile Alternatives.
Kyiv Seeks New Interceptor Missile Suppliers
According to UATV: Ukraine is currently engaged in discussions with two nations to secure interceptor missiles for its Patriot air defense systems, aiming to find a substitute for the U.S.-made PAC-3 missiles that are in short supply worldwide. This information came to light on March 30.
Global production of PAC-3 missiles stands at roughly 60 units per month, making it challenging to supply Ukraine with these weapons. In response, Ukrainian officials are actively exploring the integration of different missile types. For instance, Poland intends to manufacture 10,000 Mark I anti-drone missiles annually, which could play a key role in bolstering Ukraine's air defense network.
“We will work to ensure that Ukraine is covered in this area.”

He also noted that detailed outcomes of the negotiations will be disclosed later, stating: “When there is a result, I will speak frankly.” These efforts are part of a broader Ukrainian strategy to enhance its defensive capabilities amid ongoing security challenges.
Ukraine's Push to Strengthen Defense Capabilities
Kyiv's pursuit of alternative missile suppliers for its air defense systems underscores the severity of the regional security situation. Given the global scarcity of PAC-3 missiles, active talks with Poland and other nations could significantly reinforce Ukraine's defensive posture. The need for modern weaponry is increasingly urgent amid continued military aggression, highlighting the importance of diversifying defense procurement sources.
