OPU has announced red lines for peace negotiations with Russia.
According to ТСН: Ukraine does not recognize the Russian occupation of any territories and will not agree to changes to the Constitution within the framework of possible peace agreements.
This was stated by the Deputy Head of the President's Office, Oleksandr Bevz, during a conversation with Radio Liberty.
“We have stated that Ukraine will not accept any recognitions, and will not make any changes to the Constitution. These are the red lines outlined by the Ukrainian people. There is nothing to discuss from the Ukrainian perspective. We will see what can be formulated as a result of this negotiation process. But it seems to me that the position of the state leadership on this issue has not changed,” emphasized Bevz.
He also emphasized that the issue of Ukraine's territorial integrity is fundamental and cannot be a subject of bargaining.
According to Bevz, the sensitive moments of the peace plan should be discussed directly by the presidents — Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky.
It should be noted that earlier it was reported that the USA and Ukraine achieved significant progress in negotiations in Geneva, where the parties were able to agree on updated provisions of the peace plan that will serve as a basis for further dialogue on ending the war.
Thus, Ukraine’s position remains unwavering: no territorial concessions are permissible, and changes to the Constitution will not be considered. This confirms the determination of the political leadership to uphold national interests during ongoing negotiations with international partners.
