Ukraine Pitches Joint Drone Manufacturing to the U.S. — Zelenskyy Reveals the Deal’s Price Tag.
Joint Drone Production with the United States
According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has disclosed that Kyiv proposed a joint venture with the United States for drone manufacturing and investments in drone technology roughly a year ago. According to the president, Washington showed interest in the offer, but no agreement has been signed yet. Zelenskyy indicated that a potential deal could be worth between 35 and 50 billion dollars.
'A little less than a year ago, we put forward a proposal and handed it over to our American partners,' Zelenskyy stated.
The president added:
'We can provide the system, and the U.S. should be first.'This highlights Ukraine’s ambition to become a key player in drone production and related technologies.
Ukrainian Expertise and International Collaboration
Zelenskyy also reported that Ukraine has sent experts to the Middle East to assist in countering Iranian drones. He emphasized that 'the production of modern drones and Ukraine’s relevant experience is our Ukrainian oil today,' underscoring the strategic importance of drone technology for the country amid current challenges.
Overall, cooperation in the drone sector has the potential to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and improve its standing on the international stage. However, further steps to implement this initiative remain under discussion.
This initiative signals a deepening of defense technology cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, which could prove critical given the security threats Ukraine faces. If the agreement is finalized, it could bring not only technological support but also substantial investment, boosting Ukrainian industry and the broader economy.
