Passports abroad: importance of obtaining them by June 2025
The state enterprise 'Document' warns Ukrainian citizens who already have passports abroad until April 24, 2024, to collect their documents by June 1, 2025. Otherwise, all unclaimed passports will be transferred to the Main Department of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region, as reported on the 'Document' state enterprise website.
This warning applies to both internal and foreign passports issued at citizen service centers outside Ukraine.
The notice states that the issuance of ready documents occurs on a 'first come, first served' basis without prior appointment. If a citizen does not have time to collect their passport on time, they will have to reapply for it abroad, which will be impossible — they will need to contact the service already in Ukraine.
Additional information about addresses, schedules, and working hours of the 'Document' state enterprise centers abroad can be found on the official website of the enterprise in the 'Centers' section.
