Ukrainians warned about gasoline and diesel price hike from October 1: what awaits drivers.
From October 1, 2024, gasoline, diesel fuel, and autogas prices in Ukraine might increase.
As reported by 'Khvilya', this is stated in an article on the website auto.today.ua.
Ukrainians will face an increase in fuel costs, which are already constantly rising in price. But now they will have to pay even more.
Members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed in the first reading bill No. 11416-d, which provides for an increase in taxes and the introduction of new taxes.
According to the document, a monthly advance payment of profit tax from each gas station is introduced in the amount of 30,000 to 80,000 hryvnias.
Ukrainians will face an increase in fuel costs, which are already constantly rising in price. But now they will have to pay even more.
The tax amount for gas stations will depend on the type of fuel sold and the presence of a shop at the station. For example, for gas stations without a shop:
- If only autogas is sold, the tax will be 30,000 hryvnias per month.
- If autogas constitutes 50% or more of the total fuel volume, the tax will be 45,000 hryvnias per month.
- When selling two or more types of fuel, the tax will increase to 60,000 hryvnias per month.
For stations with a shop selling alcohol or tobacco, the tax will be higher:
- The monthly payment will be from 40 to 80 thousand hryvnias, depending on the specific situation.
Some experts criticize the introduction of advance profit tax payments for gas stations in Ukraine. In particular, Dmytro Leushkin, a fuel market specialist, believes that this innovation is beneficial for large retail fuel market operators, as they can quickly offset monthly advance payments through their shops. However, discount networks will find it difficult to cope with such requirements, and some may even close, as they won't be able to pay advance payments monthly from each gas station.
The expert also warns that the new rules might lead to an increase in cases of fuel underfilling at gas stations. He warns Ukrainian drivers that there will be more low-quality fuel at gas stations.
Currently, in Ukraine, A-95 gasoline averages 56.57 hryvnias per liter, diesel fuel - 52.79 hryvnias per liter, and autogas - 31.43 hryvnias per liter.
Recall, in Ukraine, they want to raise taxes for gas stations, banks, and individual entrepreneurs.
