Drone Strike on Russia

According to The Sun: Ukraine witnessed a significant drone attack, which reportedly became a record for distance - over 1200 miles. The strike was particularly unpleasant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, as it coincided with his 73rd birthday and caused a serious emergency in one of the Russian cities.

According to reports, three distant drones were launched from the territory of Ukraine at a refinery in Tyumen, which is located deep within Russia. This attack became the most distant drone strike during the war. The distance to Tyumen is approximately 1200 miles, exceeding the previous record of 1110 miles set in August 2025.

This record, however, may be contested, as the most profound attack from the Ukrainian side on Russian territory was recorded on June 1, 2025, at the Belaya airbase in Eastern Siberia. This was part of a series of impressive attacks by Kyiv in the 'Operation Spiderweb', which caused serious problems for Putin.

Russian officials assert that all three Ukrainian drones were shot down and that there were no fires or casualties, although images show a destroyed object with scattered debris.

Comments from the US President

The situation for Putin worsened following comments from US President Donald Trump, who noted that he is considering the possibility of sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump emphasized that Zelensky had requested these precision long-range missiles for use on the battlefield.

“I probably already made up my mind whether to allow Kyiv to use American weapons,” Trump said.

These missiles have a range of 1550 miles, making it possible to hit Moscow if they are used. Trump expressed a desire to know how exactly Kyiv plans to employ them.

Putin's response to these comments indicates a probable deterioration of relations between Moscow and Washington, although currently, the Russian capital remains virtually unscathed during the conflict.

This attack and Trump's comments regarding the weapons highlight new challenges for Russia amidst the war. The situation continues to escalate, and the further developments on the front create new challenges for both sides.
