Ukrainian metallurgy reduced production in May.
Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises decreased the production of main types of products in May 2025 compared to the previous month. According to data from the association 'Ukrmetallurgprom', 664.7 thousand tons of pig iron were produced in May (2.3% less), 635.8 thousand tons of steel (8.1% less), and 547.0 thousand tons of rolled metal (4.2% less).
A negative trend is also observed compared to the same period last year. In May, pig iron production decreased by 1.3%, steel by 13.8%, and rolled metal by 11.8%. From January to May 2025, the industry shows contradictory results, with the only indicator of positive development being the 5.9% increase in pig iron production compared to the same period last year.
