Ukrainian commanders named the critical loss figure for Russia to turn the tide in the war.
Strategy of Attrition for Ukraine
According to ТСН: If diplomatic efforts do not lead to stopping the Russian offensive, Ukraine may need a strategy of attrition. Military commanders are already proposing specific steps to implement this strategy.
Director of the New Geopolitics Research Network Mykhailo Samus emphasized that the commander of the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert Brody with the call sign 'Hungarian,' estimates Russian army losses at 32,000 to 35,000 personnel monthly. A significant portion of these losses is due to the actions of Ukrainian drones.
According to Brody, to break the enemy's offensive potential, Russia's monthly losses need to be increased to 50,000 to 60,000 personnel. This figure is a critical threshold for Russia's mobilization resource.
Commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Biletsky, predicts that in 3 to 5 months, the Russian army may find itself in a strategic deadlock due to the enormous difference in losses: according to his estimates, Russian losses are 6 to 8 times greater than Ukrainian losses.
Samus also highlights the economic aspects related to the degradation of the Russian economy, which, under the influence of falling oil prices and sanctions pressure, is gradually leading to a resource deficit in Russia.
At the same time, the expert notes that the United States under Donald Trump does not plan to significantly increase pressure on Moscow, which may slow down the effect of the aggressor country's economic exhaustion.
Earlier reports indicated that after the supply routes were blocked, Russian occupiers in Kup'yansk were left without support and organized control.
Moreover, the Kremlin is trying to slowly seize Ukrainian territories to influence the negotiation process.
The attrition strategy proposed by Ukrainian military commanders emphasizes the importance of economic and military resources in wartime. In conditions where enemy losses may increase, the possibility of events may shift in favor of Ukraine. The question of support from Western allies remains relevant in the context of the ongoing conflict and its consequences for the region.
