The energy company "Ukrenergo" announced the power outage schedule for August 21. According to the announcement, tomorrow from 16:00 to 18:00 and from 22:00 to 24:00 one outage queue will be applied. From 18:00 to 22:00 two outage queues will be in effect simultaneously. No restrictions are foreseen at other times. The consumption of critical infrastructure facilities will not be restricted.

The company explains that electricity consumption continues to grow due to hot weather in most regions of Ukraine. As of 9:30 AM on August 20, the consumption level is 2.1% higher than the previous day. On August 19, peak consumption was 3.9% higher than on August 16, which is roughly equal to the capacity of two thermal power plant units.

"Ukrenergo" emphasizes that the Ukrainian power system is still recovering from eight massive Russian attacks, there is a power deficit, and emergency and planned repairs are ongoing at energy facilities. The company urges economical electricity consumption throughout the day, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening.

Due to the increase in the power deficit in the energy system, from 16:00 to 24:00 on August 20, consumption restriction measures will be applied for all categories of consumers, except for critical infrastructure and enterprises that pay over 80% of the import of electricity for their own needs.

Ukrenergo also reports electricity imports from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova with a total volume of 19,558 MWh, with a maximum capacity during certain hours of up to 1235 MW. Electricity exports are not occurring and are not planned.

Due to hostilities and other reasons, 550 settlements are completely or partially without power. In particular, there are outages in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions. Consumers in the Kyiv region were disconnected for technical reasons.
