Planned Power Cuts Across Ukraine on March 24

According to Novyny.live: On March 24, 2023, Ukraine will continue implementing scheduled hourly power outages and capacity restrictions in two phases. These blackouts are set to occur from 6:00 AM to midnight. Ukrenergo, the national grid operator, has announced that most regions across the country will face power capacity limitations under these schedules.

Notably, no consumption restrictions were applied in any district on the evening of March 23. Additionally, Ukrenergo has confirmed the cancellation of emergency blackouts, signaling an improvement in the electricity supply situation. As of today, Ukraine has restored 3.5 GW of generation capacity out of the more than 9 GW that were offline.

Outlook for Recovery

Approximately 4 GW of additional capacity is slated for restoration, with over 2 GW expected to come back online by the end of May. This progress offers hope for further stabilization of the country’s electricity supply.

The electricity supply situation in Ukraine continues to improve, providing greater stability for consumers amid the ongoing energy crisis. Restoring generation capacity is a key factor in reducing the frequency of scheduled blackouts, which could positively impact daily life for citizens and the broader economy. Future steps to rebuild energy infrastructure will be crucial for ensuring long-term stability in the country’s power sector.
