Kakhovka HPP: arbitration decision against the Russian Federation

Ukrhydroenergo decided to cancel the tender for legal services in the arbitration case regarding the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. The company explained that this decision was made to align with Ukraine's national strategy. The main goal of the strategy is to hold the aggressor state accountable and obtain compensation for the damage caused to critical infrastructure objects. The company also noted that consultations will be held with the government and other interested parties to determine the optimal course of action in line with the national approach, which is coordinated with Ukraine's international allies.

The results of the tender were intended to secure legal representation to obtain compensation for the investment losses caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. It is worth noting that the station was blown up by Russian occupation forces in June of last year. Ukrhydroenergo stated that they will continue to work towards receiving full compensation for the war-related losses, including the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station and missile strikes on other company assets. The company also emphasized its willingness to cooperate with interested parties and inform them about the further steps in this process.
