The £75 million British water park has closed before opening: what happened.
According to The Sun: The planned largest indoor water park in the UK, which would have cost an astonishing £75 million, will never open.
Customers are left disappointed as the long-awaited park was supposed to open in 2023, but that has not happened.

This ambitious project was meant to 'put Dorset on the map', as it was expected that the park could accommodate up to 4,000 visitors daily.
However, the £75 million project stopped as Elysium Water Park UK LTD was liquidated, according to Companies House data.
Previously, the water park and spa in Bournemouth were set to become the largest in the UK, occupying an impressive 75 acres between Poole and the New Forest.
Businessman Costa Akodrinias, who was behind these plans, claimed that the project would create up to 500 jobs, the Bournemouth Echo reports.
He aimed to replicate the success of water parks in Tenerife, the USA, and Dubai.
Named after the ancient Greek concept of the afterlife, Elysium promised visitors large water slides, fast waters, and pools.
The slides were to include elements of virtual and augmented reality, as well as transparent tubes.
“This is something very spectacular, it is a big prospect, but I know we can do this. I want something for the whole community and for everyone to support it.”
The businessman previously stated: “I want this attraction to host over a million visitors a year.”
The Elysium website also reflected Mr. Akodrinias’s optimism, stating that this complex would become “the most remarkable” indoor water park in the UK.
It was also promised to create “a high-quality spa for wellness and beauty”, which would include saunas, steam rooms, massages, and beauty treatments.
On the project’s X account, it was added: “Elysium will offer much more than just a basic water park experience and will also include a water spa for adults 18+.”
Plans also included building a hotel with 145 rooms and a camping site.
However, during implementation, the company faced a number of obstacles. In December 2019, Echo reported that the planned area for the park was located in a zone of green spaces and near a site of scientific interest.
This year, The Sun also reported that the scheme did not receive the necessary planning permission, and there were serious infrastructure issues, including the need to improve the roads.
“This is something very spectacular, it is a big prospect, but I know we can do this.”
The luxurious water park and spa were also planned to operate year-round, and there were to be eco lodges and a hotel for visitors.
At the time of the proposal, the project’s website stated that it would become “the ultimate paradise of water parks”, offering high-quality wellness and beauty services, with saunas, steam rooms, massages, and dance class options.
It was also planned to build a lagoon with a surf park, designed by Adventure Out There 365. Preliminary data suggested that the lagoon would cost £35 million and would also have a wave machine capable of generating over 2,400 waves per hour.
The Elysium Water Park project, which could have been an important part of regional development, halted at the liquidation stage of the company. This news disappointed many potential visitors who dreamed of a modern water park. It is now unclear what the future holds for the site and if other investment projects will emerge in this direction.
