Russia's Attacks on March 18, 2023
According to UATV: On March 18, 2023, the consequences of Russian attacks were recorded in Kyiv and the Kherson region. Drone debris fell onto a non-residential building in the capital, while a medical facility in the Kherson region came under shelling. In Kyiv, fragments of a drone landed on the roof of a structure in the Holosiivskyi district. Preliminary reports indicate no fire broke out from the falling debris, and there were no casualties.
At the same time, in the Kherson region, Russian forces shelled a medical facility in Bilozerka. The attack shattered windows and damaged the facade of the hospital. A representative of the regional military administration stated:
“After the strike by the Russian army, the hospital had its windows blown out, and the facade and medical rooms were damaged.” - Representative of the regional military administration.
No reports of casualties emerged from the medical facility.
Use of Drones
On the same day, the Russian military launched 147 attack unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed, Gerbera, Itarmas, and other types. These events highlight the continuation of aggressive actions by Russia, affecting security and infrastructure in Ukraine.
Recent attacks underscore the ongoing threat posed by drones in military operations. While the drone debris falling in Kyiv caused no injuries, the shelling of a medical facility in the Kherson region demonstrates that civilian sites remain vulnerable. This emphasizes the need to strengthen protection and response systems for such incidents, as the consequences can severely impact citizens' lives and regional stability.
