DBR has completed the case of evasion from military service: the soldier faces 10 years.
The State Bureau of Investigations has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a serviceman who evaded military service with the help of his commander. He faces up to 10 years in prison, according to the DBR press service.
According to information from the investigation, after the mobilization in 2022, the mentioned serviceman refused to fulfill his duties, often working in civilian institutions not belonging to the Armed Forces. At the same time, he received a salary for service, which caused damages to the state amounting to over 224 thousand UAH.
Furthermore, the investigation considered the issue of his use of military equipment intended for the needs of the Armed Forces. So far, there are not enough grounds for further charges in this regard. Also, today the serviceman was returned electronic devices that were seized during the search, after the procedural actions were completed.
The serviceman faces up to 10 years in prison. Within the framework of this investigation, the commander who assisted the subordinate in evading service has also been charged. He is accused of aiding in evasion from military service and abuse of power. This may concern the head of the public organization 'Center for Countering Corruption' Vitaliy Shabunin.
The Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigations has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a serviceman who evaded military service and his commander. Both face imprisonment, and the winner will receive an order for violation of the statute of the Armed Forces.
