The government unites social payments: what will change for low-income families

According to inkorr.com: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to combine various types of social payments into a single new basic assistance to simplify the process of providing state support. This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who emphasized that the main goal of the new system is to ensure the accessibility of assistance without unnecessary bureaucratic barriers.

New system of social assistance

From now on, there will be only one type of payment - basic social assistance, intended for low-income families, single mothers, and children whose parents do not pay alimony. The application process for this assistance has become maximally simple and accessible through the 'Diia' app.

'It is important for us that every Ukrainian family can quickly and without barriers receive support from the state,' emphasized the Prime Minister.

Size and implementation of assistance

The size of the basic assistance will be determined individually, depending on the minimum income per person in the family, which currently amounts to 4,500 hryvnias. This project will be implemented as a pilot test for two years with the aim of further transforming it into a permanent support system. The draft law has already been prepared and submitted to parliament.

'We are grateful to international partners who help us make social services more accessible to people,' summed up Svyrydenko.

Thus, the government of Ukraine has united various types of social payments into a new basic assistance to simplify procedures and ensure accessible state support for low-income categories. The implementation of this system will contribute to improving social protection for Ukrainians and providing necessary assistance through an effective and simple mechanism for receiving support from the state.
