The government announced additional payments for medical workers and teachers in frontline communities.
According to ТСН: The frontline regions of Ukraine remain one of the main priorities of the government's work. Therefore, medical workers and teachers in these communities will receive additional payments.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine while summarizing the annual work on supporting communities, businesses, and the population in frontline areas in the south and east of the country.
According to her, over the year, the government team visited all frontline regions to develop new mechanisms for support and to ensure safety and access to essential services for the people.
“The frontline regions are our security belt. Here lives 6.6 million Ukrainians, and our task is to support life in the communities despite the war,” emphasized Sviridenko.
Who will receive payments from the state
According to government information, the new package of decisions covers 230 frontline communities, where the primary focus is on people.
Medical Workers
In medical institutions in the frontline regions, the reduction coefficient for wages has been canceled. In 2026, primary care doctors will receive salaries of up to 35 thousand UAH.
Educators
Monthly payments of 4 thousand UAH have been introduced for 25 thousand teachers.
Education Safety
In 2025, the state will invest in building 96 underground shelters for schools. For the first time, the budget for the next year includes 1 billion UAH for shelters in kindergartens. From September, all 1-11 grade students in frontline communities will receive free meals.
Energy and Economy
The government also pays special attention to energy resilience and business support.
A special tariff for gas has been introduced for cogeneration plants in frontline regions - 19 thousand UAH per thousand cubic meters.
The "Made in Ukraine" policy has been adapted to the conditions of frontline regions. It includes:
100% reservation of employees of critical enterprises;
an extended “Affordable loans 5-7-9%” program in areas with active hostilities, reducing investment loan rates to 1%;
possibility of extending loan terms until the end of 2027;
grants for the restoration of processing enterprises damaged by shelling, up to 16 million UAH. 16 applications have already been approved, of which 13 have been funded for a total of 148.8 million UAH.
From January 1, property insurance against war risks will start - up to 10 million UAH in compensation for enterprises in high-risk areas.
Sviridenko also noted that support for farmers operating on irrigated lands has been expanded, and the share of government financing in grants for orchards and greenhouses has increased. There is a subsidy of 1,000 UAH per hectare.
In addition, nationwide air raid alerts have been introduced, which allowed some frontline areas to avoid up to 100 additional days of downtime.
Winter and Budget Support
As part of winter support for frontline communities, a moratorium on water and electricity disconnections for debts has been introduced. The state compensates 100 kWh of electricity per person each month during the cold period.
According to Sviridenko, assistance has already been received by 282 thousand families, which have been provided support amounting to 180 million UAH. Also, 273 thousand households received 19,400 UAH for purchasing firewood.
Plans for 2026
The Prime Minister emphasized that in 2026, frontline regions will remain a focus of government attention. The state budget includes 10.4 billion UAH in subsidies for frontline territories, as well as 30.4 billion UAH to compensate for lost income due to the war.
It is worth recalling that earlier there were talks about new rates for individual entrepreneurs starting January 2026. It became known how much entrepreneurs will pay each month.
The state is actively working to support frontline regions, which is particularly important in light of prolonged military conflicts. The need to ensure safety and stability in these communities remains a top priority, and new initiatives aim not only to ease the lives of local residents but also to create conditions for the revival of economic activity.
