The government will increase funding for science by billions: what the money will be spent on.
According to inkorr.com: The First Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolichev actively supports the initiative 'World Science Day 2025: Ukraine', organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the World Science Day for Peace and Development. He emphasized that investments in education and science are key to the resilience and further economic growth of Ukraine. The draft state budget for the next year plans a significant increase in spending on science – over 20 billion hryvnias, which is an important step towards creating a modern and competitive country.
Increased funding for scientific research
In the context of this investment, a significant increase in funding for scientific and scientific-technical activities is planned for 2026, amounting to 5.6 billion hryvnias. The main areas of funding include the establishment of research centers, support for scientific projects of young scientists, and scientific developments that will promote effective cooperation between science and business. This increase in financial support will stimulate the development of innovations, the commercialization of scientific research, and fruitful cooperation between the scientific sector, the state, and the economy.
