In India, bees attacked an airplane - flight was delayed.
Bees Stop the Airplane
The IndiGo flight, which was set to depart from the airport of the Indian city of Surat, was delayed by more than an hour. Hundreds of bees swarmed the open doors of the cargo hold of the plane.
This was reported by The Mirror.
Attempts to disperse the insects with smoke proved futile, so a fire brigade was called to resolve the situation. Specialists managed to disperse the bees using a powerful jet of water.
Ultimately, the flight was delayed for more than an hour while the staff dealt with the situation. The incident did not lead to any damage or injuries.
It is currently unclear why bees were swarming around airplanes. There are theories that it could be related to potential nesting sites.
In recent years, there have been bizarre incidents at airports involving animals disrupting flight operations. Recently, a coyote was spotted wandering on the floor of the terminal at Los Angeles airport. So passengers should be prepared for the most unexpected situations at the airport.
