Buses in Israel exploded due to planted explosives.
Series of explosions in buses in Bat Yam
Three buses, filled with explosives, exploded in Bat Yam, a suburb of Tel Aviv. This incident occurred with a short interval of time. This is reported by The Times of Israel.
In central Israel, three explosions were heard in bus parking lots, but the buses were not carrying passengers, so no one was injured.
Police are working at the scene, investigating various versions, including the possibility of a terrorist act. Bus drivers were sent a message indicating that they need to check vehicles for suspicious items.
Each of the explosions contained about five kilograms of explosive material. Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu convened an emergency government meeting. Public transport in the country was immediately halted, and train movements were suspended nationwide.
According to reports, one of the explosions was carried out in a bus, where an explosive device with an inscription in Arabic was found, indicating revenge against Israel. The perpetrators likely activated the explosive devices at night when the buses were empty, rather than in the morning as planned.
It is noteworthy that on the eve of the New Year in New Orleans, a truck drove into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street, after which the driver exited the vehicle and opened fire with an automatic weapon. Explosive devices were found at the scene of the tragedy.
