In captivity, not just years, but every day counts – President's address.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation and international partners regarding the return of Ukrainian children from captivity and deportation. He emphasized that this process is very complex.
«Ukraine is always happy when it manages to bring our people back from Russian captivity. Bring them home. Warriors, civilians. This is extremely difficult, but we do everything possible to ensure exchanges take place. However, it's hardest to return not adults, but children. Young Ukrainians who have been kidnapped from their relatives. Children taken from our temporarily occupied territories – taken to Russia. And whom Russia is trying to hide», – the president stated.
Zelensky also noted that there is no exact information on the number of captured and deported Ukrainian citizens, including children. Among them are very young children and teenagers. Some have relatives in Ukraine, while others were lost due to Russian strikes.
President Zelensky stressed that the return of each child home is a joy and it is necessary to bring all children home.
«We want true peace for Ukraine – for our land and for all our people. And this is fair. It is fair – to bring home everyone who was deprived of their home by the war. Peace must be reliable», – he emphasized.
President Zelensky spoke at the Crimea Platform summit in Riga, where he declared the necessity to strengthen Ukraine's positions and use diplomacy regarding Russia. He also spoke about the processes of Crimea's isolation and the operation to dismantle the Russian fleet in the Black Sea.
Recently, President Zelensky had a conversation with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. They discussed the situation on the front and important directions of action.
