Military Man in Odesa Robbed Ex-Girlfriend's Apartment: What Punishment He Received.
In the city of Odesa, a trial took place for a man who, after breaking up with his girlfriend, remained living in her apartment and took household appliances from there.
He committed thefts while already having convictions and being an active serviceman.
This was reported from the materials of the Unified State Register of Pre-Trial Investigations.
The Military Man Robbed an Apartment
A resident of Odesa in December 2023, while on mobilization service, lived in the apartment of his ex-girlfriend's mother, which he left voluntarily.
After the girl disappeared, he continued living in the apartment without her knowledge. Initially, he took a laptop, and later — a washing machine as well. The stolen items were sold: the appliances were pawned or given to acquaintances. Overall, the material damage amounted to 8513 hryvnias.
What Punishment Did the Military Man Receive for Theft
During the trial, the accused admitted his guilt and explained that he was experiencing financial difficulties. It was also noted that he had good relations with the victim's family and was in the apartment with her consent.
The court decided not to punish him with imprisonment but imposed a conditional sentence of 5 years with a probation period of 2 years. He was also instructed to inform probation about changes in his living situation and to regularly appear for registration.
Furthermore, the court required him to compensate the victim for the full amount of material damage — 8513 hryvnias.
As a result of the court ruling, the serviceman who borrowed the apartment from his ex-girlfriend was given a conditional sentence and was obliged to compensate the incurred material damage.
