Lithium field Dobri is being awarded to a consortium with Trump’s friend: deal details.
Ukraine begins cooperation with international investors in the lithium sector
According to ТСН: Ukraine has granted the right to develop the large lithium deposit "Dobri" in the Kirovohrad region to a consortium of independent enterprises. Among the investors participating in this project is Ronald Lauder, a friend of former US President Donald Trump.
Billionaire Ronald Lauder is an heir to a cosmetic empire, known for his ties to Trump since their school days. He was the one who suggested the president the idea of buying Greenland.
Also among the investors is the company TechMet, partially linked to the US government investment agency, established during Trump's first term.
The publication reports that the decision to conclude the agreement has already been approved by the appropriate commission and will soon be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Two commission members stated that the tender was conducted without bias, and the winner meets most of the criteria.
This project could become one of the first to be implemented under the agreement between the US and Ukraine in the field of mineral resource development.
Earlier, it was reported that Ronald Lauder intends to invest in Ukraine. Ukraine's Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev confirmed that the company TechMet, which includes Lauder, is interested in developing the lithium deposit in Ukraine, specifically the "Dobri" site in the Kirovohrad region.
This initiative indicates the growing interest of foreign investors in the Ukrainian natural resources sector, which could play an important role in strengthening the country's economy. Cooperation with influential figures like Lauder could open new opportunities for improving the investment climate in Ukraine.
