According to his report, March 17, 2026, marked the highest single-day losses for Russian forces since the conflict began. The intensified assault kicked off at midnight on March 17, leading to severe human losses for the Russian army.

Within the first 24 hours of the renewed offensive, Russian forces suffered over 500 casualties, including 292 killed and 221 wounded. Over the next four days—from March 18 until noon—the Russian army lost an additional 277 personnel, with 141 killed and 136 wounded. These figures highlight the serious challenges the enemy is facing as combat operations escalate.

Russia's Plans and Frontline Realities

Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi also disclosed that Russia intends to mobilize 409,000 troops, a move that could significantly alter the course of the war.
