Details of two deadly incidents on the Odesa coast have become known. In Karolino-Buhaz and Zatoka, vacationers entered the water in prohibited places and detonated explosive devices. Three people died.

This was reported on Sunday, August 10, by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper.

According to him, on August 10, two tragedies occurred at sea in the Odesa region. In the Karolino-Buhaz community, an explosion occurred during swimming, which claimed the life of a man. Another fatal incident happened in Zatoka — there, a woman and a man died.

The police preliminarily established that all the deceased detonated unknown explosive devices. Their identities are being established. Bomb disposal experts, investigators, and rescuers are working at the scenes. The issue of entering information into the Unified State Register of Court Decisions under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine marked 'accident' is being resolved.

Military officials remind that in the region there are 32 officially safe swimming zones — 30 in Odesa, one each in Chornomorsk and Prymorskyi in the Izmail district. All of them have been checked for the absence of mines and equipped with shelters.
