Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Mykola Dupeshko.

A warrior from Bukovina, Chief of Intelligence of the 25th Air Assault Sicheslav Brigade, Major Mykola Dupeshko was killed in Pokrovsk. This was reported by the Chernivtsi Regional Council.

Mykola Dupeshko was born on July 19, 1995, and lived in the village of Mali Kurchovy in the Zastavna city community. In the spring of 2013, he graduated from school and in the fall signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 80th separate Air Assault Brigade.

In 2014, he carried out tasks in the area of the anti-terrorist operation. Together with his comrades, he courageously defended the Luhansk airport for a month.

Mykola Dupeshko studied at the Military Academy in the Air Assault Forces faculty. After graduating, he served in command positions. He was the Chief of Intelligence of the 25th Airborne Sicheslav Brigade. His deputy, Major Zaykov, says he was able to make balanced decisions and take responsibility. The soldiers served shoulder to shoulder for one and a half years. Major says that under Dupeshko's leadership, the intelligence officers completed many tasks that had significant results on the battlefield.

«He always worried about his personnel. Wherever he was, no matter how difficult the task was, he tried to maintain contact with them. Before the task and after. I was at the place of his death - if there were chances to save him, I would have done everything possible,» says the major.

Together with local chaplains, Brigadier Chaplain Lyubomyr came to say goodbye to the intelligence officer. He says that Mykola was an example for his comrades.

«He went into service as a young guy. He didn't tell his family so they wouldn't worry. He got his first combat experience at Luhansk airport. On December 18, he was supposed to come home to bow to his mother and wife, and to sing Christmas carols. But unfortunately, that did not happen,» says the chaplain.

The warrior was killed on December 12, 2024, as a result of gunfire while performing a combat task in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region.

Major of Intelligence Mykola Dupeshko was laid to rest on December 17 in his native village of Mali Kurchovy.

The military left behind a mother, a wife, and brothers.

The Commander-in-Chief joins in a moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died fighting for their homeland. We remember those killed by Russian invaders, light candles of memory, and bow our heads in mourning during the nationwide minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all soldiers, civilians, and children, all who died in the fight against Russian occupiers and as a result of the enemy's attack on Ukrainian cities and villages.
