US Withdrawal from ICPA, New Aid from the European Union. Main News for March 17.


The USA officially informed Eurojust of its withdrawal from the investigation of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The American authorities also ceased their participation in the International Center for Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine (ICPA).
The court has extended the detention of the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleg Druzyu, until April 21, but allowed him to post bail of 49 million UAH. The measure is taken due to suspicion of illegal enrichment after the onset of aggression, when he received over 1 million dollars.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Colonel Oleksiy Mesi, who was killed while repelling a Russian attack. It is noted that Mesi exhibited courage and heroism in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine has prohibited Romanian politician Diana Jovanovich-Shoshoak from entering for three years, who publicly supports Russian narratives and calls for the seizure of Ukrainian territories. She also questions the national sovereignty of Ukraine and internationally recognized borders.
The Council of the European Union has approved aid to Ukraine amounting to 3.5 billion euros under the Ukraine Facility program. The statement was published on the official website of the EU Council, where it was stated that Ukraine met 13 requirements of the EU Council to receive financial support, including reforms in the field of renewable energy and simplifying border crossing procedures in accordance with EU standards.
