Yermak on the ban of Telegram: 80% of soldiers oppose the decision.
Ukraine is considering the possibility of banning the use of the popular messenger Telegram. According to the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, the majority of soldiers oppose this ban. Yermak emphasized that the opinion of the fighters should be taken into account, as they defend the country and have the right to express their opinion.
Opinion on Telegram
The head of the OPU expressed a personal opinion that Telegram and its founder Pavel Durov cannot be without links to Russia, but at the same time, he respects the opinion of the Ukrainian people. Yermak also noted that President Zelensky is an open person and invites all existing media to his meetings.
Recently, the Foreign Intelligence Service reported that Russian President Putin issued an order to ban the use of messengers developed in 'unfriendly countries' by 2025, which affects both Telegram and WhatsApp.
Ukraine is considering the possibility of banning the use of the messenger Telegram due to its possible links with Russia. There is an expressed opinion from the military against this ban, and it is emphasized that their expression should be taken into account. It is also worth noting that this information came after an order from the Russian president regarding the ban on the use of certain messengers.
