The Russian Navy has reduced its activity in the Black Sea - what are the reasons.
In July, the activity of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the area significantly decreased. This may likely be a consequence of the threat from the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the relocation of ships to Novorossiysk.
The Situation in the Black Sea
Throughout July, the situation in the Black Sea was stable and calm - no special activity from the Russian fleet was recorded. In June, Russian forces used naval artillery, but there were no such cases this month. This is likely related to the relocation of Russia's fleet from Crimea to Novorossiysk.
Certain trends can be noted in the operation of the Black Sea Fleet. Although considering all the details is difficult, and many things remain unknown. However, the facts may indicate the relocation of the fleet to bases in Novorossiysk,'- explains Dmytro Pletenchuk.
A representative of the Navy also indicated that the activity of the Russian fleet may be influenced by systemic difficulties it has encountered. This includes the threat from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
