The military told about the battles of the AFU in Kursk region.
In the Kursk region, fierce active battles are ongoing, described by political scientist and serviceman Kyrylo Sazonov. He notes that the Russians behave similarly to how they acted in Donbas - attacking and destroying populated areas. Russian forces behave as if there is no civilian population in these territories, launching artillery, drones, and dropping KAB bombs.
The main goal of the Russian forces is to push Ukrainian troops out of the Kursk region before bad weather conditions set in. There is also a possibility that Russian efforts may be aimed at reclaiming the entire region. As of October 11, the period of limited mud begins in the area.
Russia has transferred 50,000 troops to the Kursk region, weakening their positions on the front in Ukraine.
It is also worth mentioning that on October 12, a strong explosion occurred in the Russian city of Kurchatov, likely due to a drone strike near the Kursk nuclear power plant.
