The Defense Forces of Ukraine Launched the First Attack Using Drones and UAVs

In the Kharkiv region, the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out the first attack using unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) and FPV drones. This was reported by the spokesperson of the 13th Operational Brigade of the National Guard 'Charter' - Volodymyr Dehtyariov.

The fighters of 'Charter' conducted this operation in the Kharkiv direction at the beginning of December to create conditions for the brigade's units to advance.

The battle took place near the village of Lypytsi, north of Kharkiv. During the clash, positions of Russian forces were destroyed. Ukrainian troops attacked with weaponry mounted on drones equipped with machine guns. Drones were also used for demining trenches. Different types of drones (FPV) were used for observation.

"Our goal is to protect the soldier’s life by replacing him on the battlefield, where possible, with a robotic or unmanned complex. This requires detailed planning, constant search for new engineering solutions, and creating a culture of innovation within the brigade," said Colonel Maksym Holubok, chief of staff of the 'Charter' brigade.

The Ministry of Defense authorized the operational use of the Ukrainian robotic combat complex on a tracked platform Droid TW 12.7 with a Browning 12.7 machine gun. This complex demonstrated its reliability during combat trials.

Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine established the first training school for operators of unmanned ground robotic complexes. This decision was made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - General Oleksandr Syrskyi.

In total, since the beginning of the past day, there have been 191 combat clashes. Ukrainian defenders are purposefully repelling the enemy's attempts to advance deep into our territory and are delivering fire strikes against them.

The enemy carried out three missile and 32 aviation strikes, including nine missiles and 59 KAB, over 730 attacks by kamikaze drones, and conducted more than 4,000 shellings of our troops' positions and populated areas using various types of weapons.
