Already 290 hryvnias per kilogram: prices for grapes and apples have skyrocketed in Ukraine.
At the beginning of 2025, seasonal price fluctuations typical for the New Year period are observed in the Ukrainian fruit market.
According to 'Hvylya', this is evidenced by data from the Minfin portal.
According to retail network monitoring, January 2025 marks a significant increase in grape prices. The average price per kilogram of grapes rose by 20.8% compared to December 2024 – from 206.11 to 249.08 hryvnias. The highest prices for grapes were recorded in the MegaMarket chain – 289.90 UAH/kg, while in Auchan and Metro grapes can be purchased for 228.70 UAH/kg.
Regarding apples, the situation is more stable. Ukrainian apples have slightly increased in price – the average price rose by 8.3% from 34.25 to 37.70 hryvnias per kilogram. Meanwhile, they are sold at the most attractive price in the Novus chain – 18.90 UAH/kg. Aydared apples have maintained their price level in December – 37.70 UAH/kg in the Auchan network.
Traditionally, the increase in fruit prices during the New Year period is associated with increased demand during the holidays and limited supply of certain items in the winter season.
Earlier, Auchan, Metro, and Varus showed how prices for buckwheat, rice, and pasta have changed in January.
