TAP Air Portugal Passenger Attacked in Hotel Room: Airline Accommodated Her with Strangers.
Incident in Paris Hotel
According to The Sun: A woman reported that she woke up to a man trying to rape her in a Paris hotel. This occurred after the airline booked her a room with two strangers.
The unnamed 30-year-old woman from Brazil shared that the incident happened after TAP Air Portugal canceled her flight from Paris to Lisbon.

After landing, passengers were informed they needed to exit and visit the TAP kiosk.
At this kiosk, hotel room vouchers were available.
However, since single rooms were limited, the woman claims she was told to stay in the room with the two other passengers.
“I refused, demanding a room just for myself, but I was told that it was not an option: either I accept the conditions or pay out of my own pocket, which was impossible for me in Paris.”
To her, the room had been booked with a German woman and a Brazilian man.
The Brazilian woman, who works as a consultant, reported: “At night, the German woman left the room, and I woke up to find a naked man on me, kissing my neck, holding me, trying to rape me.”
“Fortunately, I was able to defend myself, I screamed, and he left the room. Nevertheless, the scars from this incident remain.”
After this, the woman reached out to TAP, but received no response.
However, she was provided with information about reaching out to the Portuguese Association for Victims' Assistance (APAV).
Legal Actions and Compensation
The woman has sued the airline for 'emotional distress and negligence' and seeks legal and psychological help in Brazil.
She has also filed a police complaint regarding sexual harassment.
TAP reportedly offered a settlement of R$3,000 (£409), later increasing the offer to R$5,000 (£682), but has yet to apologize or admit fault.
The German woman, who was also in the room, wrote a note explaining why she left the room as she couldn’t sleep.
“The room arrangement was imposed by the airline, with no option to refuse or choose independently, placing passengers in a vulnerable situation.”
The woman who was attacked hopes her story will warn other passengers about potential dangers.
“How many other reports from women in vulnerable situations have gone unnoticed due to a lack of support or the strength to move forward?”
Lawyer Natalia Magalhaes represents the Brazilian woman and stated her client is seeking compensation of up to R$50,000 (£6,825).
“Unfortunately, we were very disappointed to learn that even with the lawsuit, the company shows no sympathy.”
“It is unacceptable that they could only offer accommodations in shared rooms. This is degrading treatment.”
The Sun reached out to TAP Portugal for a comment.
This situation raises questions about the safety of airline passengers and emphasizes the importance of proper planning and communication from carriers. This woman's story undoubtedly sparks discussions about passenger rights and their protection in emergency situations.
