Sick Leave Application-Calculation: PFU Explained the Submission Procedure.

According to the press service of the PFU, from October 1, 2021, all medical institutions of Ukraine have completely switched to the system of electronic sick leave certificates. Now doctors create a medical statement about temporary incapacity for work in the electronic health care system, based on which an electronic sick leave certificate is generated. Most sick leave certificates are issued in electronic form, but sometimes situations may arise when a doctor cannot create a medical statement through the electronic system.

Insurance providers can also make a sick leave application-calculation on the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, using the data from the paper sick leave. To do this, it is necessary to select the type of sick leave certificate 'paper' and specify the series and number of the sick leave. It is also necessary to attach a scanned copy of the paper sick leave.

Recall that cases in which paper sick leave certificates can be used are defined by the order of the Ministry of Health dated 01.06.2021 No. 1066 'Some Issues of Forming Medical Statements about Temporary Incapacity for Work'.
