Killed during a combat mission in the Kursk region. Remembering Vasyl Lavrys.
Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Vasyl Lavrys.
While performing a combat mission in the Kursk region, on September 8, 2024, Senior Lieutenant Vasyl Lavrys, who defended our country in the ranks of the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was killed. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
Vasyl Lavrys was born on September 13, 1985, in Rava-Ruska in the Lviv region. He graduated from the local secondary school.
Lavrys received higher education at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a degree in Classical Philology. Later, he graduated from the It Step Computer Academy. After completing his studies, he worked as a lecturer at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, and over Time transitioned to the IT technology field.
With the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Senior Lieutenant Vasyl Lavrys stood in defense of the state against Russian invaders.
Vasyl Lavrys carried out combat missions in the ranks of the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For his bravery and courage, he was awarded several state honors.
The funeral rite for the defender took place on September 16 at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The warrior was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.
«Glavkom» joins the moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died fighting for the Homeland. We remember those who died at the hands of Russian invaders, light candles of memory, and bow our heads in sorrow during the national moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military, civilians, and children, all who died fighting Russian occupiers and as a result of enemy attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages.
