Ukrainian military captured 16 occupiers in the Donetsk region.
According to FREEДOM: The Ukrainian military reported the successful repulse of the Russian offensive in the Donetsk region. They managed to halt the attempted breakthrough of Russian troops and prevent their advance toward the Dnipropetrovsk region. This was reported today, August 23, by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
It is noted that the joint operation involved units of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), the formation 'Brotherhood' from the special forces unit 'Timur' of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as well as soldiers of the 5th separate heavy mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The soldiers managed to stop the attempted breakthrough of Russian troops and prevent their advance toward the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
'During the fighting, RDK fighters captured 16 Russian servicemen. Among those detained are military personnel who were supposed to film staged videos about the so-called 'capture' of Ukrainian settlements, particularly the village of Andreevka-Klevtsovo (the so-called 'flag holders', — ed.),' the Ukrainian intelligence reported.
Intelligence reminded: 'The presence with weapons and tricolors on Ukrainian soil ends the same way — with destruction.'
Units of missile troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), in cooperation with other parts of the Defense Forces, struck a number of important targets of the Russian aggressor in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
