For those without the mentioned problems, doctors advise following a simple rule: only drink with well-chewed food, rather than trying to swallow large chunks with water.
It is better to prefer plain water, avoiding sugary drinks and carbonated water.
It is also recommended to wait some time after eating before consuming tea or coffee. Short pauses help not to interfere with the absorption of important minerals such as iron and calcium.
Thus, drinking during meals is possible, but with caution. By following the advice of gastroenterologists, you can avoid discomfort while eating. As always, it is important to listen to your body and consult specialists if you feel discomfort or suspect an illness. The health of your stomach primarily depends on your lifestyle and dietary habits.
